Language Barriers

Salam!

Bismillah

~ I am feeling very very very included in my community, alhamdulillah. Especially the Saudi sisters have taken me under their wing and made me their favorite little convert, lol. I get invited to tea and dinner and lunch and halaqah. Alhamdulillah it is really great!
~ However... Most of the time they are very happy to speak in Arabic always. Now it should be noted that everyone in the room speaks English and is *mostly* fluent, but I am the only one not fluent in Arabic.
~ Alhamdulillah though I'm getting better at reading the context of the discussion and using my very tiny tiny vocabulary to figure out what is going on.
~ Also mashaAllah a couple of the Saudi sisters are determined to make me fluent in Arabic. Total immersion and the like, lol.

Hajj? Already?! That's amazing!

MashaAllah you have met some really amazing sisters. I hope that you will be able to realize your dreams and go to hajj.

I think you can learn Arabic this way too. I became more fluent in Somali by hanging out with the family that basically adopted me.

I'm not sure how it can work out with the whole issue of a mahram that mami brought up though. You should check some sources on that and keep us posted on the news.

I'm so excited for you!
Khayr InshaAllah.

Masha'Allah, that's SOOOOO amazing!! That's a dream of mine to go this year to make Dua for my mommy, Allah yrhamha, but I haven't had the chance to plan it! Alhamdullilah you were blessed with the help cuz I'm a bit confused about the rules myself as well as the planning process. Definitely keep us posted. All the best sis! <3 <3
