Salam!
Bismillah
So RAMADHAN MUBARAK everyone out there!!!!
Fasting Today:
I woke up and there was no food in the house, lol. I had stale bread and peanutbutter with water for suhoor, and alhamdulillah that I had at least that much!
Around 7 o'clock (we break fast here at around 8) my dad decides to order my FAVORITE pizza. I was like... dad I have to go. He was like, don't you want some pizza? *curious/shocked face* and I was like... uhm no thanks. He still doesn't know that I converted so therefore has no idea that I'm fasting.
Alhamdulillah I got hungry, but not too hungry. InshaAllah it keeps getting better and better.
May Allah accept your fasts and prayers, protect you from the fire, and give you the best in this life and the next, ameen!

I hope you enjoy your first Ramadan.
Yay you made it through the 1st day!
Sorry for you stale bread and peanut butter. :) I like to just drink tons of water for suhoor when I fast. I get thirsty way before hunger sets in.
Maybe you'll find a way to tell your dad that you converted soon so you can avoid the pizza situation in the future.

@ Light: Assalamu alaikum wa Rahmatullah and alhamdulillah I'm so glad it is useful to you!! :-D Jazakillah Khair for you encouragement!
@ muslimah: Assalmu alaikum wa Rahmatullah, the basis of the information came from the halaqah at our masjid and then I came home to check on each prayer as best I could from internet sources.
Here are some about Al-Awabin

From my understanding, Qiyam is any night prayer and can be done from Isha until the end of the night, however Tahajjud is performed only in the last 1/2 or 1/3 of the night so I separated the two. It is similar to the itme for Duha where Duha is after sunrise until noon(better if closer to noon), and Ishraq is pretty directly after sunrise.
Hope that helps and thanks SO MUCH for your questions :-D Oh and also, some refer to Duha as Salat Al-Awabin as well, depending on which school, but I think the sources above cover that.
@ Maryam: Assalamu alaikum wa Rahmatullah and Jazakillah Khair.
@ Stacy: inshaAllah, lol!! Today I had cold pizza for suhoor... mmmm breakfast of champions :-D
@ Rubber: Assalamu alaikum wa RAhmatullah, you are in my prayers sis. InshaAllah it will get easier for you. No I haven't heard, but thanks for the recommendation :)
@ lil Hijabi: Assalamu alaikum wa Rahmatullah, awww ameen, inshaAllah. Jazakillah Khair and I hope your Ramadhan is just as fulfilling and easy :-D
@ Noor: Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah, mashaAllah for your husband! InshaAllah I will keep going with the updates for you girls
Salaam alaikum, and Ramadan Mubarak! That's great that you got through the first day, Alhamdulillah. How did you manage to go the entire day without your parents noticing that you weren't eating? Alhamdulillah, I've been traveling for the past couple days so I haven't had to fast, but I am going to need a lot of du'a and cleverness to get through two weeks of fasting without my folks finding out. :P
RAMADHAN KAREEM sis!!!
May Allah accept all your prayers for us all.
Ameen.
Hope this Ramadhan goes well for you and us all, Ameen
Pizzas!!!
Bravo sis you didn't hurt your dad and you are so steadfast, MashAllah!
Allah will surely make an easy way for you to telling him about your conversion to Islam.
Ameen.
LOVE U TONS!
Ilalliqaa,
Ma3assalama7
Rayyan Bee
Ameen!
RAMADAN MUBARAK!
assalamu alaykum again sis.. so i found something about the awwabin prayer, and the hadith reffering to that prayer is apparently calling the duha prayer "awwabin", and i found the hadith about awwabin-prayer to be between maghrib and isha, but from what i understand its a weak hadith, i only found the explanation in arabic, and its from shaykh al-albani, maybe if u could try to get it translated in english ?
because i couldn´t find anything about it from the big ulama, but inshaAllah i will listen to a live durus tonight, and i will ask a shaykh and see what he says , and i´ll get back to ya.. im not trying to proove you´re wrong or anything, just wanting to clear things out, its better for all of us hehe
Nice to meet you sis :-) Ramadan kareem with smiles and sunshine!
Best,
Q
